At 2INgage, we are fortunate to have a team of dedicated individuals passionate about making a difference in the lives of foster youth. One such individual is Rizae, a Youth Advocate. 2INgage is the first SSEC with a Youth Advocate, an individual on the team with firsthand experience in foster care. With experience in the foster care system, Rizae brings both empathy and understanding to her role, making her an invaluable asset to our team.
Rizae’s journey through foster care has shaped her perspective and fueled her desire to support and uplift others in similar situations. Reflecting on her own experiences of loneliness and isolation, Rizae is committed to being a friend to the friendless! When asked what inspires her, she said, “I was once the child who was scared to advocate for myself. Having someone to fight so hard for you when you feel like you cannot do it yourself.”
One of the most impactful relationships Rizae had during her time in care was with her PAL (Preparation for Adult Living) worker. “My PAL worker was a lifeline for me,” she said with gratitude. Now, as fate would have it, Rizae has the incredible opportunity to work alongside the same supportive mentors who once guided her. This full-circle moment is a testament to her dedication and resilience.
