2INgage and their network of providers added 70 new foster homes in the Big Country & and Texoma Regions by supporting these homes and improving recruitment strategies. Because of this effort, children are in safe, nurturing placements. Additionally, 2INgage has not had a child without placement in over two years.
The Capacity Building in Community-Based Care report released by the Texas Alliance for Child and Family Services (TACFS) also found that 2INgage consistently led other community-based providers in the percentage of children in kinship care within 60 days. In addition, the report found that 2INgage has not had more than 3 percent of children with an emergency shelter placement during the two years reviewed (2021 – 2023).
The safety and well-being of Texas children is of the utmost importance. 2INgage, the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), works diligently each day to strengthen children and families and meet the needs of foster children in Region 2, a 30-county area including Abilene to Wichita Falls.
Working with other community partners is a big part of strengthening children and families. Recently, in conjunction with four other SSCCs, 2INgage used funding from the 87th Texas Legislature to design and implement a joint capacity building plan to address placement capacity challenges for children in foster care. The project, launched in Fall 2021, was designed to build quality capacity to strengthen the system and advance the goals of community-based care to promote child safety, permanency, and well-being.
